“That Scout Group on the Heath Park?” 1960s – 1980s

Despite the headquarters only opening in 1954, by 1960 there was a demand for a larger space and in 1960 the HQ had been extended with its official opening coming in late November 1960.

1976 – HQ redevelopment planning stages

The public statement of intent to redevelop the HQ on Runcorn Heath. This would become the main hall as we know today
This obituary from 1990 explains why 4th Runcorn has a lot to thank Mr. Leslie Griffin for. As treasurer, he oversaw the finances for the new build which would become our new main hall.
