Cheshire Hike Practice Weekend 1
February 24 @ 9:00 am - February 25 @ 3:30 pm
This is the first of three, ‘two day hikes’ open to all Scouts & Explorers in the District participating in the Cheshire Hike. Participants should ideally walk in the teams of 2- 5 people they intend to enter to the hike but if you don’t yet have a team, the events are a great way of meeting people from other groups.
It’s a great opportunity to practice for Cheshire Hike and Participation can contribute to a number of badges.
Please note there is a flat £25 fee to attend practice 1, 2 & 3 whether you attend all of them or just one of them. If you book onto all three at the same time a £50 discount will be applied to the basket. If you book on to just one weekend and then subsequently decide to come to another weekend hike, the website will recognise this and not charge you for the other two weekends (provided you don’t check out as a guest).

GPS Tracking
To safely facilitate this event we are asking for parental permission to use GPS tracking software on young people’s phones. The tracking will take place only for the duration of the activity. The data connection to the tracking server is encrypted and hosted on a private Mersey Weaver owned server. The Tracking will assist route marshals to locate hikers if they become lost.
To enable the tracking, young people should install the Traccar Client app from the Apple App or Google Play Store on their mobile phone before the day of the event and ensure it is tracking correctly. To configure the app you will need to enable location tracking. In the device identifier field type the security code on your E-ticket (please note this is case sensitive). In the Server URL field please enter https://traccar.mwscouts.org then toggle the service status to on when you arrive at the hike start. See a screenshot of configuration.
