Guillemot Leader Keelboating Day

All Scout and Explorer Leaders
As part of a newly formed and exciting partnership with the Guillemot trust based over in Liverpool, we will soon be able to provide Scouts and Explorers from Mersey Weaver free keelboat sailing training out on the River Mersey.
As part of the launch of the scheme, we are offering an exclusive free opportunity for leaders from Mersey weaver to come and have a go at keel boating for themselves in two weeks time.
Climb aboard, learn new skills and have a day out on the water so you can help sell it to the young people when we launch in the new year.
Experience on the water and sailing knots would be useful however this is not essential and indeed not a barrier to taking part, as the instructors from the guillemot trust have all the necessary skills, accreditations and knowledge to facilitate this and future events. However we’d love some leaders who might be interested in helping to develop this relationship and help with future training events run by the trust to come along.
If you are willing and able, please sign up to one of the slots for leader taster sessions on the 27th November.
Transport to and from the docks will be under your own steam however we will share the names and contact details of those who are happy to car share and we can use the Minibuses if there is a willing driver.

We have four sessions running on  Saturday 27/11/2021

at Liverpool Marina, Brunswick Dock, Liverpool L3 4BP
Please be aware a parking ticket is required per vehicle.

Waterproof Jacket
Waterproof Trousers
Warm Layers
Non-marking Trainers
Warm Hat
COVID Precautions
This will be an outdoor event
When indoors, please keep distanced between households where possible and wear a face covering
You must complete a lateral flow test at home before attending.
Please DO NOT attend if you meet any of the following criteria:
You have any of these 3 symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild
An elevated temperature.
A new, continuous cough.
A loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell.
You’ve tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days
You’ve been told to self-isolate following contact with someone who tested positive
You are required to quarantine after returning from abroad
Someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive; unless:
you’re fully vaccinated – this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine given by the NHS
